Privacy policy

Summary
Kyte has no server of its own. The publisher of Kyte does not receive, store, or see your data.
Your data stays on your device. If you sign in with Google, a copy is also kept in your own Google Drive.
What Kyte keeps on your device
- The sources that you add, with their addresses and sign-in details.
- Your profiles, watch history, resume points, and favourites.
- Your settings.
Sign in with Google
Sign-in is optional. Kyte works without it.
When you sign in, Kyte asks Google for these things:
- Your name, your email address, and your profile picture. Kyte shows them on the device so you can see which account is signed in.
- Permission to create and open the files that Kyte itself makes in your Google Drive. Kyte cannot open any other file in your Drive.
Kyte keeps one file in your Drive. The file holds:
- The names and pictures of your household's profiles.
- The watch history, resume points, and favourites of each profile.
- Your sources and their sign-in details, in encrypted form, so a new device can load them.
Kyte uses this data for one purpose only: to show the same profiles and the same progress on each of your devices.
What Kyte does not do
- Kyte does not sell your data or give it to anyone.
- Kyte does not use your data for advertising.
- Kyte has no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking tools.
- No person reads your data.
Kyte's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Other services that Kyte contacts
- The sources that you add. Kyte sends them the sign-in details that you gave for them.
- Services that supply artwork and descriptions for titles. Kyte sends them the title that it looks up.
- A service that you link yourself, for example a watch-history service or a media server.
- A plugin that you install. A plugin contacts the sites that it is made for.
- Google Cast, when you send a stream to another screen.
- Other computers on a file-sharing network, when you play a stream of that kind. They can see your internet address.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
How to remove your data
- To remove the sign-in from a device, choose "Sign out" in Kyte's settings.
- To remove the copy in your Drive, delete the Kyte file in Google Drive.
- To take away Kyte's permission, open myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Kyte.
- To remove everything on a device, uninstall Kyte.
Children
Kyte is not directed at children under 13. A profile for a child is made and managed by the adult who signed in.
